That's lovely :D and she's got a higher average speed than you Jungle. Won't be long before you're being 'chicked' ;)

Excellent news. And yes, get her to ease up a bit

firstly, well done Jen.
Secondly, well done you.
Thirdly, 6 miles is my current cycling distance in my "post hop op return" so nothing shabby with that distance!

Excellent stuff :) This is the time to start cycling again - can't beat a ride in nice weather to get the cycling bug under your skin!

Can I ask which bike Jen has? I'm looking at getting one for my other half for not totally unrelated reasons to your own. Sounded out Mike about a Trek 7.2FX, which got very positive feedback, so that may be on the cards soon.

Over the moon mate, even moaned yesterday as I enforced a rest day that it felt like she had done nothing (this is not like my wife!).

I got her the Trek FX 7.5 WSD. Was really impressed with it lack of weight, carbon fork and an elastomer 'suspension thing' on the rear stays which really works (at lest you can see it moving when you push down hard). It comes with 28mm tyres on road wheel which I thought was a good fast compromise without going to full road skinnys. I'm really glad I bought this one not only does it look great in turquoise (if it looked rubbish i'd struggle to get her on it) but its enough bike that it would take years and years to really out grow it. Its was worth her being a little jittery to start with to have something with lots of scope although I did un and arghh for a while to get a more normal type hybrid i'm very glad I didn't.

I had a cheeky go the other night after setting up my old garmin fr90 so she has cadence to work with and couldn't believe just how nice it was to ride; can always be upgraded to drops in the future too and cut it with roads bike of the same or slightly more cat.
