Little Miss Atomic

.

My youngest daughter took part in her first ever triathlon on Sunday and only bloody won!!!!!!!!

It was a fun event organised by the local tri club (Carlisle) who are starting up a junior section and had about 100 entrants over several different races.

She gets her running genes from me I think so wasn't expecting much from her telling her that I'd be happy so long as she enjoyed her self.

There was 12 in her race (7girls and 5 boys) and she was 4th out of the swim, but, (after some transition coaching that very morning) was 1st out of T1 and flew round the crit style bike course coming in to T2 with a flying dismount :D :D :D . I honestly thought she had lost it and was about to fall with the speed at which she jumped off at.

She managed to hold onto 1st overall until the leading boy overtook her during the second half of the run to beat her by 7 seconds with her coming in 2nd overall (1st Girl).

Been a proud dad ever since, telling everyone I could.

Shes quickly turning to the dark side and has already amassed a 3 bike collection :o and is talking of carbon and saving seconds on her race.

This could get costly

She turned 11 on Saturday, raced on Sunday.

She's never been particularly sporty, but has recently joined both the local Athletics Club and Youth Cycling Club.

Although it was only a short taster event, I was honestly blown away at her effort yesterday.

congratulations great result and I dont just mean the position. Love these threads great to hear about the kids getting out and doing and really enjoying themselves a refreshing change from the tabloid drivel that would have you believe that the playstation generation is all encompassing.

Should have a Jnr section

Outstanding - it sounds like not only did she do really well but she enjoyed it! Great news, not for your bank balance but y'know
