Depends where you go. Some bits are very very flat, aka "the Great York Plain".

We don't know which bit JB went to.

Essentially, the plain is surrounded by the Dales to the top left, the South pennines to the left, the north york moors to the top right, and the rolling country of south yorkshire, and the peaks to the the South.

Yorkshire also has some practice hills in the East called the Wolds, nice, rolling and scenic, providing a nice leisurely intro to Yorkshire.

The Steelman bike course in north yorkshire was really really flat. Got quite a good time as a result.
