BB replacement

Postby Bendy Ben » 28 Mar 2014 12:01

Cos of my awesomeness and massive wattage I have worn out my BB bearings ( it's taken two years a d some obvious waster ingress)

Seen "The Dr" and he fitted me with a new BB30 cup and bearings.

This is what a worn BB looks like and a split cup ( due to water)

The Doc says whoever fitted the cup had misaligned it ever so slightly which is what's allowed water in. Hmmmm

So after a few months of grinding Everytime I turn the cranks I now have a quieter ride. The cranks spin freely which is wonderful. Good times.

Even with the misfitting, 5km for a BB isn't good
