i just stuck a bit of tape on the thread and a little more around the join when they were on and its been fine...and a fair bit cheaper than 2 new tubs and extenders (plus spares?)

1) it wasn't a puncture

2) it was a reoccurring problem

3) everything I tried that it still leaked air

4) I can now cycle without fear of a DNF every ride

5) with the Zipp extenders in situ I had trouble inflating with a track pump - the pump would push away from the extender at 100psi !

6) for peace of mind and two functioning wheels it was money well spent ;-)

A cheap clincher wheelset for training on won't cost you much more than a new tub!

I'm sure I even have enough spare tyres/tubes to get you sorted as well.
