I, like triumphant use reynolds stryke clinchers. Suitable for more sturdy  riders, but, and I don't lime to be the bearer of bad news, carbon rims are not for the faint hearted, especially in the wet. Where they are all but useless, as I believe Jon E mentioned in a RR, at least pulling desperately on your brake levers, gives you something to do, as you sail into the nearest wall / hedge / ditch. They are bloody fast though.

My more day to day wheels are spinergys, which are effectively carbones. Bombproof decent braking / climbing and aero enough.

The urge to push him off is immense as i pedal like buggery down hill and he comes sailing past with that very annoying clicking.

For me i have no intention of changing my wheels till I feel i have maxed out on the bike which I am way off tha. I am riding the bottom of the range trek and for me I dont think I would notice the differance.

One day I will go lighter but for me there is no need to rush until I reach a point where I can get uch more improvement out of the main frame.

I reckon the RXLs are worth 2mph on your average speed Will. Offer stands if you want to try them in training or a race.

Although as you apparently consider pushing me off, maybe I should revoke the offer

I will one day. Just need to get the legs working a bit more to give the justice.

So you all know I love shopping

I got some new wheels :-)

Being delivered on sat am - I was going for Flo's but since I sold the TT bike the disc idea with a 50 front wasn't needed.

So - road bike, used both 60mm PX clinchers 7/10 and pro lite Gavia 50mm tubs 7/10 also.

Now the Flo's look the business - was still going to get them but a very kind man who I met last year is giving me a 50mm carbon wheelset from Team Carbon Bikes. Clinchers.

Will report back when I get them and I've also just got hold of these :

http://www.fuertebici.com/shop/50mm-carbon-tubulars/

Now the word on the street is these are very very stiff and strong, look sexy as hell and go like stink. I can only find positive reviews. 50mm wheelset with skewers weighs in at 1460g. That's pretty good IMHO.

Getting them on Sat so will again happy write a review.m

Also happy to loan em out for you to "test" for a weekend. I run Campag though so that might limit that option.

Let me know

Perfect - that solves it; I'll be watching out for them in the For Sale section by next weekend.

Thanks Ben!

Thanks for the offer Ben. Would take you up on it, but your Campy set up spoils it for me; takes a lot of mechanicky stuff to make it compatible with Shimano derailleurs. And I'm more the pondering type than the mechanicky one. ;-)
