I highly recommend this for attaching to the extension so you can mount your Garmin further forward. I found that a base bar mounted Garmin couldn't be seen when in aero position.

And that's having purchased quite a few, and having found them not up to the job - the raceware ones in particular wouldn't stay in place.

Ian

It's mounted on one of those ( the Garmin one) which is longer

I had the exact same one. What I replaced it with (eventually) is one that could mount on the extensions, so I could see the Garmin just by moving my eyes, rather than my head.

That's what I'm after

Between the sticks much further up towards the ends of the bars

Totally happy it being on the stem as opposed to being out front of the road bike

Glad I got the performance pack - comes with cadence and speed sensors , four mounts ( one out front) and all the bands to attach them to my bikes.

Premium HR strap is much better than my premium 910 one too.

Tomorrow I'll be waiting for the WAT to come home at 6pm and I'm off on an evening 2hr ride to road test it

Looks like someone's hex key was slipping in the stem bolts ;)

I took our resident shoe addict's advice on this and went for the Polar strap; cheaper and seems a lot more stable than the Garmin Premium strap

Looks pretty big. Be interested to hear your experience with it.

I thought the stem would be fine for the 500 I got from Ian, that's where I'd had my 705 after all, but turns out the screen just wasn't right so invested in a K-edge mount to put it out front and have to say moving it 6" further forwards makes a huge difference to the readability of it.

The premium strap seems to have been updated again recently, the replacement I had from Garmin this year was totally different to the one I got last year, if it has the rubberized bits around the edges then it is a much better strap. Just remember to wash it every now and then, especially after sweaty sessions as the salt build up destroys it and the signal starts dropping out or giving stupid 280bpm HR values.
