Running shoes

Just curious..... And bored...... And thinking about running again....Well, walking anyway.

Here are the questions:

What do you run in?
Would you buy the same again?
Why / Why not?
What affects your choice when you buy new shoes?
Do you use one pair for everything, or does your weapon dependant on the battle...?

Inov8 x-talon 212, road x 233, road xtreme 155. (Or whatever they are called)

Would you buy the same again?

I have stockpiled them

Why / Why not?

Because they suit me very well.
Comfortable. Light. And the least injury causing of any I have used.

What affects your choice when you buy new shoes?

Availability, cost. (Can I get my favs at a discount. Are they about to be withdrawn so I have to buy loads)

The latter. Fell, trail, off road
Road: training and > 10k races
Races up to 10k

Inov8s RoadX 255 for me. Second or third pair - I love the fit and the feel. Also have a pair of TrailRocs, but love them less. I think so did Inov8, as I think they've discontinued them.

:ugeek:

And that was all the nudge I needed. Fingers crossed the 255s fit.....

For what it's worth, I use Newtons.
They are totally unsuited to my running style - but are light; feel very comfortable; and have a nice wide forefoot without much in the way of seams, so seem to be good for avoiding blisters.
They are totally rubbish in mud or ice though.
They are also rather £££ (though with a bit of searching, there are usually discounts to be found) - and not particularly robust.

I did try jumping on the Inov8 bandwagon (any excuse for shoe shopping, even if it is only boring running shoes) - but just hated the feeling of them on my feet, so sent them straight back after the briefest try on.

Asics Gel Noosa for me
Asics Fuji Attack for x country/trails
I've got an Asics foot; had a gait analysis and shoe assessment done at the Lincolnshire Runner years ago
Tried other shoes but have rubbed, hurt and keep coming back to Asics

Asics Cumulus work for me - neutral & cushioned, I'm a fat f*ck and they mitigate that.
