Who has done a TT?

25 is the best distance. The club evening series ran loads last year (around every other week/maybe every 2 weeks) but this year they've been cut right back. There is one on the 22nd June, 11 days before Ironman Austria but I'm not sure if it's too close to the race. I'll probably do it just for a bit of fun :)

I did a 30 on a windy day that had something stupid like 9 roundabouts on it and clocked the first 25 miles in 62.29 I think it was, On the same course on a non windy day I reckon I could go sub 60, Going out I was pushing about 340 watts for 18mph!

Get one entered and prove it :D.

Alex Dowsett managed 520ish watts for the prologue of the tour of Luxembourg. Took him about four mins. Somehow, Cancellara took 17 seconds out of him. Incredible percentage over the elapsed time. Dowsett was 22nd.

25.57 on H10/2 last night. 2 seconds slower than last week. In real money 10-15 seconds slower as last week I made that wrong turn.

Put it down to tiredness after long commute. Was spent by the end of it so knew I had nothing left in the tank

Doesn't it speak volumes as the assessibility of TTs when an event organiser can charge £15 for ONE and have it well attended simply because they advertise the fact and make it easy to sign up for?

Went to do my first one on Tuesday and failed miserably. Sign on time was from 6.30 with a start time of 7pm. With the intention of getting an early time, so I could get back and eat dinner with the WAT officer, I arrived just before 6.30. At that point there were 45-50 people in the queue already. I lingered about a bit, overhearing regulars complaining that they'd become a victim of their own success, and decided not to bother as I'd be starting at about 7.50 and not getting home until well past 9pm.

I'm hoping the stars align next week so I can finish work at about 5.30 to get there for an early start time and that the weather's ok. Otherwise I'll have to consider eating before I go and getting a purposefully later start time.

It wasn't a total waste though, I drove the course before heading back; decent tarmac, quiet road & pretty flat. The route's K41 for those interested, and it's run by these guys - http://www.hinckleycrc.org/Events_TNT.aspx

Why pay £15 when you can pay £2 and still get a field 40-50 strong almost every week?

Oh, and a PB last night. 23:56 on H10/181. Didn't feel great and not my highest placing but fastest time on a 10 so far.

...and as noise pollution/residential complaints rise expect to see more of these "closed roads"/multi lap formats on race circuits.
Croft circuit in north Yorks no longer does bike track days....hint hint.
