2013 Time trialling Forum/Club BAR Competition

Oh god, me touching the floor in a mankini is enough to make ME feel ill. Nah, the point was that I'm flexible enough to get a good aero position. But I do feel that my upper body strength could be better applied: my swimmer triceps help out, but my weedy core muscles need beefing up to make it easier on the arms. In longer races I have felt that my knackered arms have made the run difficult.

I digress... and I'll start another thread on the subject: does weight training help a cyclist, and should it be medium weight/high reps or heavy weight/low reps? Probably one for Conehead...
I had fun once. It was awful.

I think Sir Chris Hoy does low weight/high reps...

Absolutely.

The tricky thing is to know how much.

Cycling your bike makes you better at cycling your bike.

If you have 6 hours to spare each week, then doing 6 hours in the gym won't be as affective as 6 hours on the bike.

If you have 40 hours per week, then 20 hours on the bike and 6 hours in the gym would be good. Extra sleep with the others.

Brilliant.
One who wants to do something, will find a way.
One who doesn't, will find an excuse.

Misses a few things.

Alex Dowsett will have been doing the club 10 (it was the last thing he did before starting the giro and winning the TT stage)

The u23 that came forth practiced on the club 10.

Th fantastic thing about the sport is that you can ride the same event - the exact same event - as the pros. Not sure where else you can do that. For £2.50.

Obviously, not being a club member you have to look down the list a bit

Ooh, BOOM. That's a win! The club winner was 2mins behind.. but does the 'J' signify junior? I really hope so.
