Well,
A) sit in corner of dark room with underpants on head and pencils stuck up nose going " flibble"

B) spend most of year licking wounds, mumbling " bugger, bugger, bugger "

C) making voodoo dolls and sticking pins in them
Extinction is the rule. Survival is the exception.

Well done everyone. It's been fun to watch.

Do a TT. On a working bike.

And more seriously, rather like IanM, do lots of strength and conditioning work as part of 'Operation Unbreakable' then actually do some consistent training. TrainerRoad will get hammered over the winter, too.
I had fun once. It was awful.

I had the distinct feeling that yesterday's performance was limited by upper body strength. My arms and back are killing this morning.

Instead of thinking "I want to get off; my legs ache" it was more "I won't to get off, I don't think I can hold on".

But strength and conditioning help you to maintain a good aero position, for sure. And flexibility.

Not wishing to derail... but I spent a useful 1h35 in the gym this eve doing leg stuff. With some surprisingly big weights for my skinny legs. Not too worried about the upper body stuff - although I will be doing some - since I still have a bit of swimming legacy on my top half.

No, the cool bit was that as I was stretching to cool down a lady remarked 'ooh, you're flexible' as I stood with feet a shoulder width apart, then flexed forwards to place my palms flat on the floor.

I've got a great aero position. The limiting factor is my gut. Which is improving. 8-)

No. Just his Mankini. He doesn't need to make and effort.
