Not so much... the race plan should have more to it than my predicted/target times, such as what I want to think about on different parts of the course (eg. spin up Fair-Mile, drink x amount by y time, stay seated on Howe hill if it's wet etc.) and that is the stuff I need to develop myself because if someone does it for me then it'll either be meaningless or I'll forget it. I think the projected/target times are a reasonably small element. My problem is that I have proven bad at self estimation in the past, and I'm not sure how to translate the metrics I do have (TTing etc) into other distances, especially given the vagaries of the course.
I was pleasantly surprised by my OW swim on monday. I did 4 laps of the local lake (official distance 4.4-4.5km, actual distance probably more like 4.0km) in 64 minutes, but I was taking it easy almost the whole time and I stopped for a 3minute chat at the end of lap 1 and again to adjust my wetsuit on lap 3. Other than the Henley Swim, thats been pretty much my only long swim, all the others have been interval focussed (e.g.. 20x100m (1:28 swim, 00:22rest)).
Health is good, and only a slight hip niggle that only flairs up if I run too many laps of the track going anticlockwise. If I swap directions every set then the pain clears up.
Weight, is good. I've put weight on since the TP. I'm regularly around 68kg now (I was below 65 for the TP and was probably nearer 70kg for IMAT'10 - but I wasn't carrying any fat back then either
)
Weeksy did 10:12 a couple of years ago didn't he? Although the bike was different then and he's faster than me.
Strava bike is
here I did two approximate laps (there were roadworks etc) and got a puncture but it'll give you the gist.
