Dear The Fear,

It appears that any non wetsuit concerns I had have now disappeared, so one nil to Tritans.

I can tell this has annoyed you, because you are now niggling away at my shit running. Ok, so I am to running what the Dodo was to flight, but they turned out alri... Ok, that's a bad analogy. I am to running, what Lemmings are to self preserv.... Oh damn you the Fear.

Don't peak too early, there is plenty of time left yet my friend.

Tritans xx

Event: Iron Man Wales
Fear 1: Little children mess with training plan and I arrive at the line on 4 hours training a week
Fear 2: I get punched repeatedly in the head at the swim start (or that's what it feels like)
Fear 3: There are sharks
Fear 4: I get repeated punctures and run out of inner tubes
Fear 5: I can't change an inner tube
Fear 6: I get the squits on the run
Fear 7: I bonk on the run and DNF
I think they'll do for starters....
All in all - it seemed like a good idea at the time and now I'm proper shit*ing myself.....
I've done DNF. I've done DNS.
The future is DNE :D

2. Just how much will it hurt to do this stupid thing.

Ah, somebody else has discovered The Fear's own brand IronDrizzle(TM) laxatives.

Stu, you are insane.
I had fun once. It was awful.

Race - Ironman Arizona

Fear 1 - after a year of comprehensive support and training as per a pro, I go slower than 2010
Fear 2 - which leads nicely into not posting a faster bike split than the Miskinator
Fear 3 - which turns into a march of death on the run, being passed by chappers
Fear 4 - I arrive at the race, but my bike does not
Fear 5 - that the glorious 80 degree sunshine and blue skies are replaced (as per 2010) just on race day by weather armaggedon - gale force winds, driving rain and hailstones etc etc

My money is on Chappers. Assuming any new arrivals don't spoil it.

You might edge him in the swim, but he will pass you on the bike. He'll beat Craig easily too.

Chappers will be too busy "doing a Paula" to worry about overtaking or being overtaken...

Conehead, Fears 1, 2 and 3 read more like reality so you really only have to worry about two things. There you go, I did you a favour and reduced your stress. Who says I'm not a nice guy
