And as I'm thinking about IMCH, is anyone else doing the swashbuckler as a warm up event?

I'm signed up for this JB... intially as a warm up for IMCH which I had to cancel due to the new arrival being June/July!

Think there's a few of us doing it... Scotty B (he seems to do every event) and Bopo as well I think?

There's a question over in the general forum about the run course. The times from last year vary widely. Has anybody done it?

A mate of mine did the bike course last week. Said he wasn't busting a gut and went round in just over 3 hours. No major hills to report.

I'll be over there myself in the coming weeks or months so I'll let you know and see who can show up.

Finally, I live near to Southampton about 40mins from start. If anybody has to travel a long way - registration is the day before - give me a shout. My spare room may be free. Ditto lounge floor.
I had fun once. It was awful.

Man that's a relief! Here's the course on mapmyride... Profile looks very flat. Thank god!

run looks like a slight incline for most of the distance. if the bike isn't v hilly then I'm guessing the long drag is why the top 20 positions are relatively "slow" (normal fast half times would be in the 1:20's?)... or maybe as some of it is on trail? or maybe I'm talking a bunch of a*se?
No? Tough. We're doing it.

I think there is a reasonable amount on the gravel trails through the new forest. I'm racing a HIM in spain that weekend so unfortunately can't do it, but if anyone wants to have a go at the bike or run courses (as a long steady ride/run) nearer the time I'm up for it as I only live about 15 miles away.

I don't suppose it matters for that top lot, but I think T2 times are included in the run split, which may be why they're a bit longer. My T2 in the NF middle was about 5 mins - complete change of kit.
