Helvellyn'10

Last minute entry today for a last race of the season :D I doubt I'll beat last year's time as I haven't done any hill running for ages (and I have a patella niggle atm so running will be minimal over the next few weeks). That said, it'll be interesting to see how (if!!) my bike has improved as I'll be riding the same bike as last year - compact with 11-28 on the back  .. ahhh, the Struggle.... 1 in 4, lovely jubbly

A cracking event with probably the best atmosphere of the tri's I've done (with the possible exception of IMCH), so I know Mick Wood's in, anyone else?
No? Tough. We're doing it.

I can only apologise in advance....

Feel no obligation to wave, say hello or otherwise acknowledge the red face, panting like a train son of a B*%ch at the back of the pack!

Nice one Chappers!

edit: oh, and I think me, mermy and the little fella are gonna go on a recce up there around the 25th if your about? (probably mid-week)

It'll be good to meet up Mick and I'm sure it'll be the other way around- you saying hello as you cruise by ;-) unfortunately we won't be up until the weekend of the event, but def see you there on the day

jon.e - thanks :-) tho the round won't be until we move back up north in a few years time. Until then it's just a nice idea in the back of my mind :-)

I might have been reeled in here... are you considering the Bob G. round Mick?

TOTAL respect if you are!

For those not in the know... I HIGHLY recommend reading "Feet in the Clouds" by Richard Askwith

In fact if you DO know what the Bob. Graham round is, I still highly recommend reading it!

Not really Didds, maybe see how my training goes? Although I must confess, I DO run MUCH better on mountains than flat roads!? (What does THAT say about my psychological aversion to running! lol!) My mate raised it as something he'd like to do, hinting at me saying 'yeah, I'll do it with you'

It's on my 'to do' list I think....

I came across the "Frog Graham" round the other day. You have to swim in between the hills, apparently....

.. there is a book called "Swimhiking" which is one to get.

couple of years ago,one of the lakeland triathletes swam Coniston(I think,or could have been Windermere),then cycled the Fred Whitton route, and then did the Bob G.round in one go.
