Compressport bike socks

Got these for no other reason than I needed some socks !!

That's about as hard a decision as it was although a fan of their quad & calf guards I was hoping for good things

First impressions - the BCTTT discount still works. Winner

Out if the packet and again the quality is absolutely superb. These won't go thread bare. They are quite tight to get on.... Funny that once on they feel oh so lovely. The little dots on them.. Gimmick or not but you can't feel them on the inside of the sock so it'd be wrong of me to poo poo their claims.

What is very vy nice is the arc support... A strip of "tougher" fabric exactly where you need it. The same for the heal too. Feel like all socks should have them.

The fit size wise is spot on and the toe box get the same seamless treatment.

Overall - I'm impressed, good price, feels great and there is a little feeling of support.... The jury is out on the dots, but they look good. Feel great in the shoes.

Deffo worth a punt if your looking for er......socks.

What claims are they making about the dots? Do they help you climb better/make your tyres more puncture-resistant/increase your ability to look good in lycra?

The blurb :

Top Features of the Compressport BIKE Pro Racing Socks
Compressport innovates again with the introduction of this cycle sock into our new proracingsocks 3D.DOT range.

Blood flow stimulation: the acupressure effect of the 3D.DOTs helps to stimulate blood circulation in the foot, increasing venous return
Shock absorption: the external over-woven structure of the 3D.DOTs allows for absorption and dampening of impact
Protection of the Achilles tendon: the cushioning effect of the 3D.DOTs at the rear of the sock protect the Achilles tendon from friction and pressure
Slip-proof: the multi-directional 3D.DOTs ensure maximum grip in shoes, preventing the sock from slipping
Ventilation: air flows easily between the 3D.DOTs, regulating temperature
Water extraction: the 3D.DOTs retain little water (rain, hydration, perspiration) and the space between them facilitates its extraction so that feet stay drier
Extreme comfort: the internal over-woven structure of the 3D.DOTs increases comfort and reduces the risk of chafing
Travel Sock: as it stimulates blood flow and prevents fluid accumulating in the foot it is an ideal travel sock
‘Ergoformable’ toe piece: the toe piece design covers the toes without creasing, compressing or smothering the foot. Toes are left free and not squashed together
‘ArchStim’ support: positioned on the arch of the foot, this elastic compression strip stimulates venous return, strengthens stride posture and prevents the sock from moving, slipping and twisting
Anti-bacterial and anti-odour silver ions fabric: silver ions control heat and moisture, helping to reduce sweating and overheating, therefore reducing germs and bacteria. Using a patented process silver ions are built into the fabric, reducing odour and the chance of blisters
Quality assurance: always striving to bring you the highest quality, Compressport compression products are manufactured exclusively in Europe, using European yarn, on European equipment, by European medical compression specialists

Wow. Those are a lot of claims. Half-expected to see them contributing to World Peace by the end of the list.

Think I'll have a look at them. Socks are probably the only new kit that fall ib my miniscule budget at the moment

Got the run version (that look exactly the same...)

Really nice for marathon distance. I save them for main sessions/races as they are my favourites. Stopped me getting blisters. If they weren't so expensive (even with club discount) I'd have more than 1 pair.

+1 for this. I've got a pair I've used for most runs for about 2 years. They still look great. (Cue Morg with some sarky comment about me only having done about 5 runs in the last 2 years ;))
