Nice to see you. Your post on supplements is a high quality start. I'm sure we'll soon manage to drag you down however.

Just joined on here, did my first tri a week ago and looking to compete regularly next season with a view to hopefully qualifying for some age-group (20-24) champs.

Just developed a new injury (fluid build up on my knee) which is a bit worrying, but in the process of getting it sorted. Live around the Reading area.

Welcome Tom a great addition to the Royal County Massive.

Do you swim at Copthorne ?

Thanks for the welcome guys, off to the doctors to try to speed up this injury recovery as the daily filling of fluid in my knee is getting a little worrying!
Looking to just do sprint distance first as the brownlee's look far to thin for my liking! I also think I will find motivating myself much easier for this distance! Haven't done any open water swimming yet as I didn't fancy the extra expense of a wetsuit on top of everything else, and my swimming was at the "25m and knackered" level, so thought it was best to stick to the pool- especially as I had the luxury of a 50m for the first few months. Now go to a swim training once a week, and have bought the swim smooth book as well as the triathletes bible to help with some training ideas.

Could possibly be 'Housemaids knee' and I had this last year (I think). Made my knees look even more comical than usual...The local quack drained the fluid then I put on a compression bandage which sorted the matter over the following week
