The bouncing up and down - I suppose I meant more like going up on tiptoe and back down, controlled and the water supports the weight to take strain out of it, rather than a skipping type motion. Well similar but with less impact or strain.
I agree about the massaging - I tended to only do it when it ached, but now I do after every gym session - normally when sat in the steam room as it increases blood flow, and has other post workout benefits (apparently*)
* I read a few articles ages ago about how it helped recovery etc. and _can_ help increase red blood cell production
