barclaycard bPay wrist band

Any early adopters tried one of these?

Contactless payment wristband... I'm thinking it would be great way of carrying "money" when out on a bike ride or long run... just dash into the local garage when bonking without having to worry about carrying cash/cards, using valuable pocket space, rain proof etc.

Works with any visa/mastercard payment card (i.e. you don't need to have Barclays).

Probably works in more places than Apple Pay....

I like the key fob. That would work for cycling, but also handy for the tube, not having to faff about taking a card out of my wallet.

Excellent idea. Wristband would be the way to go for me - doesn't take space in the pocket. :-)

One drawback (slight) - expires after "at least" two years, after which you need to buy a new one. Still worth it though.

My £50 notes go in a sandwich bag along with my iPhone. On days when I decide not to carry cash then I simply slip my debit card in the very same bag. Much less bulky and you save £24.95. Is this a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist or am I out of touch with what happens in that there Londinium?

A bit of both. Like you, if I'm out long enough to need cash it'll go in the same bag as my phone. The tube on the other hand now supports contactless payment, so you need to have a wallet with only one card in, or take the card out of your wallet each time.

So the key fob is appealing to me. And means not having to wear a wristband ;) And as a slight bonus it'd be with me when out cycling as I've usually got keys.

I would never want to carry around a years wages in a plastic bag for fear of losing it, and this plastic bag must be huge, if it can fit a phone in, but unless the phones extension cord is very long, the point must be pointless as the ride will be quite short. ;)
