Numpty question number #484838294

Postby scibby » 16 Aug 2015 19:27

There is a ten minute difference between the "elapsed time" on the garmin and the chip time from today's sportive. Any reason why this might be? (Chip time is the bigger number).

Assuming I chipped in and out correctly and that I start/stopped watch correctly they should be the same-ish no?

Did you stop for a drink and a wee? Garmin might be showing 'moving' time whereas chip time is the total from A to B

It seemed like a good idea at the time :? .

Thanks KS. It shows moving time and elapsed time. I understand the diff between these is wee/drink/rest. But I would have thought elapsed = chip, ie start to stop...

Unless like in some sportives they started the time when the event started ie you started 10min after the start.

What do other people have?

10 mins exactly? But coincidental. I'd go with an operator error with the event timing.

Unless autopause affects things.
