Is that to measure your stroke rate? ;)

Any advice Ben?

I don't swim at the moment and certainly aren't training for triathlon! Is the 410 a good option?

Fwiw

I found the 410 to be a real pain. The interface was a nightmare, very fiddily and frustrating. Imo the worst garmin design there is.
Personally I'd say the 305 was more usable.

Or wait for a couple of months until ben sells his :D

Thanks....

....i have a forerunner 50 at the moment which is cool for the heart rate monitoring, and i have an old iphone 3gs with arm strap which i use the 'mapmyrun' app on....but i'm finding the signal is intermittent on the iPhone (or the app)....I went out on a 5k run and when i got back it told me i'd done 1.5k and was still a mile from home

I'm going to give the iphone another try now....but if it turns out to be unreliable....its either the 305 or the 910 then i guess?

I definitely what to use it on the bike, and connect a cadence sensor...

Are there other decent options?

Use Endomondo on your phone, it is about 96% accurate.

I'd guess that the app is not the problem. More likely to be the poor GPS antenna in the iPhone and some dodginess in iOS. Predictably enough, the situation can be improved by regular rebooting...

305 is very good, bit chunky but is quite intuitive to use and easy to jump from run to bike and indoor to outdoor modes (for turbo sessions). i have an edge 500 that i now use on the bike and it's nowhere near as sensible in terms of setting up with the turbo.
