Changing GAT is not really an option and she has no interest in taking up cycling or tri. Which is great news for me.

There are no TT courses that are realistically close to me (I live in central London) so cant get to them. I think the nearest one (run by my cycle club) is around 20 miles from home. To get there involves 2 or 3 trains so not really practical for an early evening TT.

I'm quite happy with the idea that I will ride anything I want to do on the roadie, if I find someone from the cc happy to drive me and bike to the TT then i'll do it on that, maybe with clip on bars. The position is reasonably close to the TT back half, so it would be a small aero loss for a massive space gain.

Oh, come on. A young, good looking chap like you? Do those London laydees not realise you've rocked up to the start line for the Southern Riviera Playboys, surely the most "I say, Ding-DONG"-est of any tri-team that has ever removed a pair of knickers with a single glance?? 8-)

Or, more sensibly, what about this, as posted on another thread. Or some other smart bike storage options? Seriously, if you are clever about it you can hide two bikes in half a wardrobe.
I had fun once. It was awful.

yeah, moving out isn't really something i'd want to do, we're both happy with the convenience and other benefits of living where we do.

And Bopo, of course I wouldn't struggle to get a new GAT, i'm just happy that another one wouldn't be an upgrade

The problem (for storage) is the integrated seat post, it sticks out a fair bit and I can't drop it any lower for storage. So selling is the 'sensible' option i'm afraid, as reluctant as I am about it.

might do, but then in a few years when it is more likely to be used, and needed I can buy a new one.

The problem is more that there isn't anywhere to store a second bike (one takes up the available space) so its just one of those things. The seatpost if just an additional issue related to the clippy things mentioned above. I ws going to get a wall bracket and put it in the hallway alcove but the seatpost stuck out and blocked the front door opening, or half of the hall so was a no goer.

Honestly. Why would you need front door to open. Sounds like you're just trying to come up with an excuse.
