Thanks peeps. It was quite cathartic writing the report!

I don't have any other ultra races to compare it too, but organisation, marshalling and aid stations were excellent! Medics on hand at stations too. I would say that it's a great one to do as your first because of this.

Oh, and it took me 15hrs 17mins. I'm not sure I'll be looking to beat that PB... well, maybe.

Excellent stuff Dave, a cracking effort.
Welcome to the world of ultras. What's next?

I have a huge apology to make to you Dave.

I stopped reading and contributing here for a long time because I basically didn't have anything to offer these days as all I do is train all year to swim some stupidly long distance and there's not much advice or anything interesting to write about that!

I now see that you you finished your gargantuan effort 12 miles from where i live ie Avebury/Devzies. I would have happily given you a bed and a shower and food etc for the night so you didn't have to drive 2 hours home after doing that.

I feel very guilty and i cannot apologise sufficiently.

Don't be daft mate. No apology necessary. Believe me, I'd have been the one apologising to you if I had stayed the night at yours. I was a right grumpy arsehole by the time I finished
