Get in the open water, Kwerty! It should be plenty warm enough by now!

Any intel on the water temperature in PL? I'd love you to have some reassuring news for Ben & Jody. No, really.
I had fun once. It was awful.

Sunday morning, bright and early, Shepperton. Anyone care to join me? 45 mins continuous swim, with sort rest after each 750m lap. Anyone? Ben?

According to the race website, water should be around 16C. I don't believe the website. Think it'll be closer to 14C. You'll still get some folks swimming without a wetsuit, I can assure you.

Week 28: 3 x swim, 3 x bike, 3 x run, 1 x S&C, 1 x physio

Consistency vs. Plan score: 10/11 (184/223, 82%)
Plan completion score: 9/10 (171/240, 71%)
Physio consistency score: 1/6 (41/110, 37%)
Weight: TBC (WoW delta: TBC, total delta: TBC), BF: TBC

A very solid (& very hard) training week, closed off with a mad weekend including my first TT, the inaugural OW swim of the year and my first HM distance run.

Thoughts on TT:
It was TOUGH. In a good way. Plan was to ride most of it in high HR Z4, but I found very quickly that it jumped to Z5a and wasn't even hearing of going down. Found it a bit frustrating that I couldn't control it, but on the muscular level I was feeling good, so I allowed myself the indulgence of pushing on. Can't happen in PL of course, as the distance is more that twice the length and there's a half-mara to run afterwards too. In any case, landed on 1:05:01, which I'm very happy with (objective was to bring it under 1:10, which I hit with a comfortable cushion of margin).

Thoughts on OW swim:
I seemed to be flying, without actually trying to - effort was moderate. Did 3 loops of 750m, clocking in 12:34, 12:42 and 13:13 respectively for each of them. Does that mean there's a sub-30min swim in PL on the cards? Definitely maybe. Not the objective though. In any case, glad I haven't quite forgotten how to sight yet - there's 3-4 more OW sessions on the plan, so will practice that a bit more.

Thoughts on HM run:
It was a really tough one. The plan wasn't to run a HM, but to run continuously for 1h50min and as that time came, I realised that I had less than a km to close off on half-mara distance, so carried on for a few more minutes. Unlike in the TT the day before, though, I was firmly in control of the heart rate throughout, so happy with that. Closed off the distance in 1:55:11 (avg. pace 5:26 min/km), which is what - realistically - I should be able to do in Poland. But faster is unlikely. Definitely humbled by the experience though.

Thoughts on the kit (I've managed to test out some more of the stuff I'm planning to use in PL):
New wettie is awesome - seems to fit me like a second skin, and clearly is making me faster in the water too. Really loving it.

The new club kit simply won't do - I need to make other arrangements in the next couple of days.. I went for the extra-length option, but even so the top barely covers my belly button. :( And the shorts are more like hot pants - barely come down half-way down my thigh and up to my hip bones. So there's a gaping hole on the front when I run (fortunately I have a base layer that is almost exactly the colour of the club kit, so it's not as explicit as it could be, but I'm not sure I want to spend the run leg in Poland wondering if my pants are going to slip down off my "nice arse" or if my layers of fat are showing. And if it's hot - and it actually may be - layering up for 5hrs+ is not the right things to do either). Thinking hard of maybe getting the black Compressport tri tee and pairing it up with my good old tried & tested Orca tri shorts. That would also put me firmly in the stealth fighter category - black bike, black helmet, black shoes, black tri suit - I like :-)

The bike camera should be getting us some nice pics in PL. Provided I remember to switch it on, which I didn't on Saturday at the TT  . Ah well, will need to test it out on one of the training rides coming up.
