So far so good.

Slow runs on Sunday and Monday

Knee(s) playing up a bit on the Sunday and the Monday. Felt a bit better on the Tuesday.

So had a faster run yesterday for 14, to make the time goal for week 2 (sub 27:00 average).

Not decided what to do tonight... fancy some fartlek (or intervals).

Some odd pains, but stretching seems to help!

You and me both. I can't believe it to be honest. I'm going to do mine daily. Surely those papier mâché knees can't hold together for much longer.

15.

I was tired. Managed to do intervals - but probably not very fast. Also at the back of my mind was the fact that I would have to do it all again in 11 hours as I switched to the morning.

16. Crap nights sleep. Fatigue building up. Colleague has been feeling Ill for the last few days. Woke at 3 drifted back off at 5. Alarm set for 6.

Woke at 5:45. Hr elevated by about 10 beats. Knackered.

This was a hard run. Very sore achilles. They are usually pretty crap in the mornings. But it was a bit sore putting my feet on the ground.

The day was nice and fresh. But I was reduced to a shuffle. Probably around 5:30 pace. But lost a few minutes crossing the road. I had wanted a faster run - 4:30 ish. But there was no way that was going to happen.

I could also feel tritan's needles going into the wax effigy of me. I was expected to get a heart attack at 2.5k as this was his bet on when I would break. Quite relieved to get through that.

I have two pairs of shoes. And with everything inflamed, you can really tell the difference.

The inov-8s are quite minimal - so hurt then Achilles/calves. While the newtons have quite a heel and I was feeling it in the right leg - from the knee down through the shin to the top of the ankle. A bit like sciatic pain. Or toothache.

I had switched to the inov8s on monday - and the knee was gradually less of a problem. And a lot of stretching seemed to sort it out. But the ankles and right calf were getting increasingly sore. So I switched back to the newtons for today's run. Ok, the ankles didn't snap, but the knee Hurt again.

It's interesting how minor differences are emphasised.

I'll switch back to the inov8s for tomorrow.

I really need a week off. That would be sensible.

Home tonight though - and a work from home day tomorrow. So hopefully a good nights sleep will improve things.

We shall see. I'll probably run at midday to maximise recovery time from today, while maximising time before Saturday's performance test.

But I need to heel a bit before trying to run hard.
