Tuesday 4th June 2013:
Local Tri clubs' TT league. The long distance one - Temple Course X2. I really like this one, both the distance and the course.
I really was up for a good one, the weather was excellent, the minmal wind was on our backs for the hilly section but I did not perform as expected and finished 4th.
I cannot put my finger on it, I did a reasonable 20kM warm-up, I was well hydrated and I was well rested. My PB is 54:10 and all the pointers are that I should beat this (I was aiming for 53:odd), but it did not happen, however my 1st lap time was the same as my tractor blocked time on the course two weeks ago. I also noted that my H.R is higher tonight
Maybe I did too much yesterday? Maybe I have plateaued? Maybe I should not have ridden it blind and should have had the Garmin fully visible all the time? Maybe I just wasn't in the exact "shape" tonight and I'll peak further on down the line?
Anyway I'll not jump to any conclusions just yet and will carry on with the programme but will monitor myself more closely
Any thoughts?
