Not sure about the number thing. Surely, the only way it would be visible is if you wore your tri suit to work. This would be bad form. Especially if you have been indulging in #9.

But I've not had a number written on me for five years.

I have used a Road id for a number of years now , but now there tech big fins have devised this free app

https://www.roadid.com/ecrumbs

Not sure whether there would be a cost implication regarding all the SMS it sends out, but the premis would allow for updates. ( depending on time lag. ), for watching real time racing of fellow TTers and runners particularly if racing against one another, something that was discussed on a previous thread.

It is still operating in BETA, but they are looking for feedback and you do get a 10% discount voucher for Road id when you register.

Already have some sort of app on the phone which lets the family track where I am (and come & find me in the relevant ditch) - though has an annoying habit of logging me out sometimes... so suffered some grumpy muttering from him indoors (who was working from home yesterday) after I got home rather later than expected owing to navigational errors and puncture.
Good idea though...

The app is free, I was just wondering about any cost implications regarding the SMS messaging.
As soon, or if, I ever get fit enough to test it, I will let you know, since I live in an area that has v.poor mobile reception, I will also see how long it takes for the SMS to be sent.

Which is the App that you have Clare?

As for devised by a Yorkshire man, maybe this will help you decide

And for those of you who have an Edge 810 or 1000, you can connect to your iDevice/Android which will transmit various bits of data (HR, speed, location) in realtime so your respective male/female can track you

iOS 8.02.4.32 also has the 'Find my Friends' function to locate any of your fellow iDevice users. I don't have any friends though

Sent from my dungeon

The app we use is called Life360. It's a bit rubbish, but does let you track people etc (e.g. find that teenage daughter is lurking around the shops / fast food outlets in town / is on the train home etc)
