Sonofsammo's Training Log. Detour. 2012

Postby sonofsammo » 18 Oct 2012 14:35

Wales is entered- Now where have I read that before?
Assessing other races for the lead up.
Castle's challenge half on 28th July at Bamburgh castle maybe.
llandudno sea tri. and long course weekend.
Didn't do lecicester half mara - no running for me at the moment, as am on a ban.
Last week, got back into a bit of turboing. This week have carried on whilst at Martin House.
Beatrice poorly again. It's getting me down tbh.
Swam for the first time in ages today. Didn't go to plan. 32 \lengths in 13 mins. Far too fast and was badly for it afterward.
Ah well.
So at the moment, there is no plan, beyond train when possible and enjoy it. I've pretty much been ill since the vit, so it's good to be doing something again. Just missing running.
I've done DNF. I've done DNS.
The future is DNE :D

Likewise,
nice and easy, slow and steady, whatever you have time for, just enjoy it, make it count, even if you cannot get out or do stuff, work on mental attitude, plan a training planner,

Hope Bea gets stronger,

Good to see you back mate.

I will quite probably be joining you at the Castles Challenge in July - if I don't then I'll be doing the Sprint and camping overnight so you'll at least get some support the next day.

It's only £47 BTF/£52 non-BTF to enter - more of this lot should come up to do it too...

Exactly six weeks before Wales - and it's the only middle that I've found on that weekend.
And it's cheap. And at a Castle. And going by last year's results I won't be last! I have a feeling it'll be hilly!

Flava - Llandudno is an awesome race! I did it in 2011(it was turned into a duathlon, due to the weather) - check out my race report ;-)

BigShow - Support's always good, either racers or spectators - not that I'd see you much if you were racing ;-)

After a week of exceptionally good food, I am now Porky McPorkerson.
218lbs.
Which is the heaviest I've been in a loooooooooooooong time!
So I am to set about reducing this to a better figure (yes, pun intended ;-) )
Aim is to get to 198 by end of December and then decide on things depending how that goes - that's 2lbs a week for 10 weeks, which should be doable.
Still can't run, which is frustrating, as it's the one thing I know makes the weight fall off.
The turbo is my friend. As is netflix. Cos the nexus sits nicely on the handlebars :-D

I think 2lb a week puts me at about 1463 cal a day net (Holy crap!!!!!) ...... So I'm going to get myself back on Livestrong and go from there.....
I think I do a lot better when I actively follow what I'm eating...
I've done DNF. I've done DNS.
The future is DNE :D

i need to have a chat with hussler really....its ok to do halfs before but the thing is i dont really like em....and CH's wisdom when i first started this shit was that doing races as training or 'warm ups' is a bit useless...
i was thinking of doing a couple of OD's just for fun (i like liverpool) but not bothering with a HIM as they have never been successful for me!!

but we'll see.

i feel your weight pain Andy...i stay away from the scales but i know i seriously need to lose...i dont calorie count either but i've cut out all stuff like bread and cut right down on booze....my plan is just to try and get ticking over with some running and riding...before we start my plan proper on january 3rd.
Jase has been scaring me....i'll admit it....but its going to be good working with a coach and having some structure...instead of just doing what i can when i can.
Really up for wales already...and it feels good to feel that way, cause i was not only injured but the outlaw didnt inspire me.

sorry to hyjack your thread andy....just thought we can go 'through it together' this year!!...but i wont log my training here dont worry. lol
