SO far this week:
Mon - 100 miles 6:28 long ride
Tue - 60 min swim drills + sports massage
Wed - 54m ride - short course - z4 + 3.5K o/water swim
Good week so far!
Amazing what a difference a change in nutrition makes.
Eating moe complex carbs. Using recovery shake. Supplementing with protein (worked out I was only having HALF what I needed ffs!).
Am looking forward to more of the same.
Will be a proper tortoise by the time IMWales comes, if it comes.
Let the good times roll :D

What a surprise!
As soon as the sleep goes tits up, so does the training.
Dicky tummy prevented run yesterday - so went to bed for 6 hours.... Loved it!
Have woken up today ready for a 60min coached swim session and a nice wet, hilly 54K ride.....
Tummy still feels off it though...

Cheers!
The week definitely went downhill (or uphill!)...
NO training Thursday (rest day) or Friday (forced rest day)... :(
Friday night, 3 hours sleep (thanks kids!), then up at 5 (thanks kids) and away late to the Peaks (thanks again kids!).
Saturday went over to Bakewell for a coached swim session - First comment from Gary was that I was swimming much better - Yay!
Thence followed an hour long beasting, which was nice... feeling more confident of the swim, just not of the sea, fickle bitch that she is!
Then met up with Woody for a ride to, up, down and away Winnatts pass.
It did not go well.
In short:
I came, I saw, I got off and stopped.
Was in danger of falling off I was going so slowly and didn't fancy head butting a 4x4.
I'm still wound up about it.
Unfortunately the rest of the ride was just messy - no power in the legs at all.....seems to be a common theme.... so different to Monday!
Ah well - another century next week maybe....

Went for a swim at the local pool yesterday - FAIL - OAP soup strikes again... after 30 mins of hell, decided I was utterly wasting my time and got out very grumpy.
Did 1 lap of local ride that I do - 45s slower than new PB, but my word it was windy. Looking at the HR, it's about comparable.
Also compared first ride of the year in March on that course with the latest ones -
1st Ride - 59:55 Ave Speed-15.8mph Ave HR-160
New PB- 53:42 Ave speed - 17.5mph Ave HR - 162
Means I have cut 6 mins 10s off the lap time in 4 months - not bad going!
Had a sports massage last night and it seems everything's a touch tight!
Had confirmation of osteo-arthritis in my left knee - and tbh even without an xray I can say I'm pretty sure my right'll be the same.
Am putting it out of my mind til after the race!
Feeling a bit under the weather - just stessed with B stuff, but manifesting as a sore throat/cold - rather irritating.
As is the weather!
O/Water swim tonight.
Looking forward to the peace and quiet.

All told a bit of a pants weeks so far for training:
Mon- Nowt
Tuesday - aborted swim FAIL and 54min interval bike
Wednesday - New PB o/water 3960m swim in1:34:55 (improvement of 4mins over PB!)
Thursday - Nowt
Friday - 2 hour z2 bike
Saturday - Hopefully decent swim drills session
Sunday - Long bike - 100 miles again, I hope.
Very disappointed with volume for the week.
Could go out for a run today, but then would have less fuel in the tank for tomorrow.....
Not sure what to do...
