Jimba's streak

Postby Jimba » 28 Feb 2016 12:12

There do not seem to be many active logs so thought I might as well. I have no actual streak target, but I am aiming for a 50km ave per week for the year. I have a sub 1.30 hm objective some time during the year which would be a couple of mins off previous all time pb. Nearly all running is on grass at a steady pace. I am trying to do a hard parkrun when the opportunities arise.

Day 54, 7.8k trail run. 58k for the week, total streak 412k.
(2 hour steady turbo)
Now I have started the log, the streak will probably break in a day or two!

Most of the active ones are in "Corporal Punishment".

Are you counting only runs in the streak, or the turbo as well?

Looks like you have reached semi-professional status with runs and turbos in the same day. Are you working less hours now?

Just runs in the streak, including turbo was just for completeness. I would include swimming if I ever did any!

I am working the same hours but travelling time has reduced, don't know how long it will last. Looking at my training log for the last 5 years, Jan to April tend to be my highest volume, not sure if it is complacency that slips in during May, but whatever it is, I do far less for the rest of the year. So the current period for me is about getting as much in the bank, without getting injured, as possible.

2 hours a day, every day. 14+ hour week!

Not bad going :D (Never really managed more than 4 - 6, although trying to do at least 3+ hours on the bike every Sunday morning)

Probably jinxed it now.

Day 57 - 7.8k 50mins, bitterly cold wind but lovely spring morning sunshine.

I don't get near 14! 24 week ave is just over 6, last 4 weeks just over 10. I think it's 3 years since I did a 3 hour ride. Once I have decided my races this year that might change, depends if I do a half.

Day 58 - 7.8k in 50 mins (one hour steady turbo)
Day 59 - 7.8k in 50 mins.

Debated on a turbo tonight but decided I would give it a miss in favour of parkrun in the morning and a turbo later tomorrow. I need to get a hm in at some point in the next week or so as the plan is for Reading hm on 3 April to be the last of my winter challenge hms.

Day 60 5k parkrun, very muddy but got a pb and came 4th which was nice particularly given that I hadn't reduced the mileage on the run up to it. One hour very steady turbo later.
Day 61 4.5k in about 30mins, not a recovery run, more of a leg stretch.
Totals for week 48.4k running in about 5 hours and 4hrs on turbo. Compared to recently that is a slightly low week, but am content that "the numbers" appear to be heading in the right direction.

Day 62 8.2k in 42mins, thought I would test my road pace out, to determine which pen I start Reading in, looking like the 1.30 pen.
Day 63 8.2k 52 mins, back on incredibly wet and muddy trails.
Day 64 5k 30mins - no time for anything else, too busy. Looking like this will be a low volume week.
Day 65 6.1k morning in 40mins, 6.1k afternoon in 40mins and 40min hard turbo later in the day. First turbo session of any intensity for 5months or so.
