Think we've answered that one then :D

minor surface damage I think, probably caused by tight hamstrings (and weak glutes) going to get sorted on that, strengthen up and train a bit more sensibly for the next one, and find a late season oly to smash myself on (and finish!)

I'm currently registered for the half iron at Hever...I might see if I can drop down from that and ind another oly to go for too. or I could just man up and do the half at hever. it'll depend on how the back etc recovers. Once I've moved house tomorrow I'll start looking at getting fixed. starting with hammys, and shoulder which is still playing up. then i'll see how the knee and ankle are (survived my plod intact at least!).

Shouldn't you be starting your own 41 weeks to go training log? Less snark, more running.

Seriously, it would be interesting (maybe I am odd), how you cope with the climate etc. 42 weeks out, wouldn't expect a daily up date. 1 a month etc.

Especially as your are targeting that 3:05 time.

A) It would be every day or not at all. Not very good at in betweens.

B) At the moment it's a 3:30 target until I can test my form later in the year in a more hospitable climate, so I can more accurately judge my fitness.

Still not taking the bait, I see.

Maybe weekly. We'll see.

Hush now, dino. We're distracting from md6 gardening himself into an early grave.

So my most recent aches and pains have come from moving house and the start of 'decorating'...no gardening for the foreseeable as the garden will be done by a pro over the summer...no weeds just a bit of mowing - need to buy a power mower not a bloody push one!

Any way no training since the race. Going to get back at it with a little run this weekend if I get time. And maybe a swim too.

So today I did a swimming.

1,700m in 29'21 which is not too bad. 1x1600 set and 100 c/d. Effort was steady but very comfortable. technique seemed to survive throughout the distance which was very good news - perhaps the breakdown in previous swims was due to the issue with my back and shoulder rather than fitness which is encouraging now that I am fixing myself. I could have carried on and gone to the full 2k I had planned but I didn't really have time (and I don't want to overdo it).

Going to hurt myself on a watt bike this evening then out for dinner - I figure that i'll have earned it by then :D
